Shannen began her practice in 2014, right here at Zin Zen Yoga! Initially practicing yoga to build physical strength and flexibility, she ended up falling in love with the calm, positive energy that she discovered on her mat. Shannen finds yoga helps bring balance to her life while both attending school and working. When Shannen is not practicing yoga she enjoys gardening, cooking, snowboarding, and spending time at her family’s beach house. Shannen’s classes consist of creative and energetic flows as she encourages her students to always try something new. Having completed her 200 hr YTT through Yoga Works in 2016, she is excited to share her passion for yoga with all of you!
Shannen Healy instructs the following:
A fun, engaging yoga flow class in which the breath guides the movement of the body. The mind becomes focused on the breath as the body moves through a series of poses including sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated and reclining poses, backbends, core isolation and strengthening. Special emphasis is placed on moving into and out of postures safely, correct alignment, using the breath, and learning to quiet the chatter of the mind to find peace and inner stillness. Attention is placed on the journey of the movements. Get moving (and sweat a little) with this energetic blend of Yoga Asana that provide strength, flexibility & peace of mind.
Yoga for Every Body
Cultivate space and stability through this breath-centric, mindfulness based practice. Move and flow at a pace that allows each pose to come into focus, using inner listening and outer cues for proper alignment and stability. This class integrates breathing techniques to deepen the postures, and ends with deep relaxation for integration. Beginner friendly and suitable for all levels - come explore your edge!

This class focuses on being right where you are at every moment. Emphasis is on the breath and the mind/body connection. This is a more meditative class that is great for students of all levels that want to gain a deeper connection to the present moment and their own well being and state of mind. A class based in the fundamentals of mindfulness, this class is a slow to moderate-paced flow, focused on connecting each asana, or pose, with the breath. A strong emphasis on alignment allows the body to open and move safely in and out of the poses. Along with the physical opening and strengthening, this mid-morning class will bring a sense of mental awareness to your day. You are sure to walk (or float) out of this class with gratitude!
This 45 minute mid-level flow class will leave you feeling grounded and lighter throughout the remainder of your day. An all-levels practice to build strength, balance and flexibility. Ideal to recharge, de-stress and elevate the body and the mind. A fun practice that is both challenging and supportive with options offered throughout the class to suit everyone’s ability.
