Zin-Zen Yoga Classes

The core is both the literal and energetic center of our balance and strength. Many of us shut down around this area causing back pain, misaligned posture, suppressed emotions, and even poor digestion. This energizing and rewarding class interweaves a core strengthening sequence into an all levels flow, working to tone and strengthen the abdominal and back muscles while also opening your mind and your hips to create a more toned, balanced and powerful center. While many yoga asanas, or postures, already engage the core muscles, this class will specifically target the mobility and stability of your body's center. Core strengthening, as opposed to abdominal work alone, not only helps to whittle the waistline, but will also strengthen your back, your glutes, your hip abductors, and most importantly the deep transverse abdominal muscles and entire area that supports your spine. Join us for this uplifting practice, awakening your core and becoming strong & resilient both on and off your mat! Work hard and then enjoy a sweet, well deserved Savasana at the end! All Levels Welcome.
This 45 minute mid-level flow class will leave you feeling grounded and lighter throughout the remainder of your day. An all-levels practice to build strength, balance and flexibility. The perfect class for workers who spend the day sitting at a desk or for that busy person who needs to relieve stress from a busy morning. Join us for a mid-day getaway and then return back to work or to face the rest of your day relaxed and recharged!

This class focuses on being right where you are at every moment. Emphasis is on the breath and the mind/body connection. This is a more meditative class that is great for students of all levels that want to gain a deeper connection to the present moment and their own well being and state of mind. A class based in the fundamentals of mindfulness, this class is a slow to moderate-paced flow, focused on connecting each asana, or pose, with the breath. A strong emphasis on alignment allows the body to open and move safely in and out of the poses. Along with the physical opening and strengthening, this mid-morning class will bring a sense of mental awareness to your day. You are sure to walk (or float) out of this class with gratitude!
A perfect mid week practice, the Slow Flow class combines breath focus with movement awareness. A slow, mellow flow followed by restorative work to relax and release deep layers of tension, we will end class with guided breath work, passive, nourishing postures and the always appreciated, Savasana! By moving mindfully, with intention and breath, then creating stillness and quiet in the body and mind, we will balance the nervous system, release layers of tension, and restore ourselves at a physical, energetic, and emotional level. Benefits of being guided through each pose slowly and mindfully include relaxation of the nervous systems, slowing down our minds, creating suppleness in the muscles, deepening breath, stress reduction and experiencing a shift towards peace and tranquility. With major focus on the fundamentals of Vinyasa, this class will provide a more restorative and meditative approach to the typical flow. As we move through more traditional poses, we build a stronger body while releasing tension and flowing our way into a state of bliss! This class is suitable for all levels!
Energize, Awaken, Restore! Part Vinyasa Flow and part Yin Yoga, this class starts with an active and invigorating flow and ends with passive, luscious, deep stretching; allowing you to move from a state of doing to being. Begin class by warming up the body with movement linked to the breath, mindfully flowing from one pose to the next while building strength and bringing focus to the mind. The second half of class will consist of postures held for several minutes each, starting to relax the muscles and lengthen the connective tissue around the hips, pelvis, and low spine getting deep into your restrictions with the aid of breath work. This Yin/Yang practice will help bring internal focus, breath awareness, and balance to your yoga practice. Perfect for runners, sports enthusiasts or anyone wanting to get the benefit of extra range of movement from this uniquely sequenced series.

A fun, engaging yoga flow class in which the breath guides the movement of the body. The mind becomes focused on the breath as the body moves through a series of poses including sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated and reclining poses, backbends, core isolation and strengthening. Special emphasis is placed on moving into and out of postures safely, correct alignment, using the breath, and learning to quiet the chatter of the mind to find peace and inner stillness. Attention is placed on the journey of the movements. Get moving (and sweat a little) with this energetic blend of Yoga Asana that provide strength, flexibility & peace of mind.

The opposite of our active yang lifestyles, Yin Yoga is a deeply nourishing and passive practice. Find stillness in seated and floor postures held for 3-5 minutes, helping to lengthen the connective tissue around the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and improve the flow of energy throughout the body. The practice itself is quiet and meditative, allowing you to connect with your innermost thoughts and feelings. Class will end with 15-20 minutes of guided meditation followed by a blissful savasana.
Cultivate space and stability through this breath-centric, mindfulness based practice.
